Colombian Spouse Visa

Colombian spouse visa or Temporary visa of spouse is issued to a foreign national who marries a Colombian national or contracted a valid matrimony with a Colombian national, and fulfills all the requirements as a permanent partner as per the current legislation of Colombia. STEPS INVOLVED IN VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

    The visa application process consists of two steps; Marriage and Visa application process. If you are already married to the Colombian national, and have a valid marriage certificate from that country, you can skip the first step.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA

      The foreign national must qualify the following requirements to get a spouse visa through the application process:

      • 1.Copy of current passport with all required information about the applicant
      • 2.Valid passport (for at least next six months) with at least two blank pages
      • 3.Two recent 3×3 cm colored photograph against white background
      • 4.Copy of the page in the passport, which shows the last entry/exit in Colombia
      • 5.The registry of the marriage from Colombian civil registration or certificate of conciliation declaring the existence of the marriage, or public deed evidencing the marriage according to Colombian standards, and these documents must be issued not more than 3 months at the time of application process
      • 6.Copy of your partner’s citizen card
      • 7.Birth certificate of the applicant along with the translated copy (Spanish)
      • 8.Birth certificate of your partner
      • 9.Letter from your partner (Colombian national) requesting to issue visa for you to the consulate
      • 10.If the foreigner is about to practice a profession in the country, documents permitting to practice such profession must be presented such as professional card issued by the Professional Council of Colombia
      • 11.Commitment has to be given to the Administrative Security Department with DAS form to report whenever required
      • 12.If the applicant has applied for a permanent partner, which is a Colombian national, the valid de facto union marital document must be according to the laws of the receiver’s country.
      • 13.Consular fee or payment for visa study which is $50
      • 14.Fill the visa application form (TP-10) electronically or in person at the consulate

      All the documents from your home country needs to be apostilled or authenticated, and translated into Spanish by a certified translator (birth certificate or civil documents showing you are eligible to marry or marriage certificate if already married in another country).

      BENEFICIARY VISA

        A beneficiary visa is issued to the dependents of a foreign holder residing in the country on a Temporary visa or spouse of Colombian national. The dependents are expected not to involve in any occupational practices except being a student or taking care of home. Following are the documents to be submitted:

        • 1.Valid passport with two minimum blank pages
        • 2.Two recent 3×3 cm colored photograph against white background
        • 3.Valid civil registration or documents establishing the relationship with an apostille
        • 4.Valid documents suggesting economic dependence of the applicant with visa holder
        • 5.A letter by the visa holder taking responsibility of the beneficiary for their stay and his/her departure from the country.
        • 6.Copy of the holder’s visa
        • 7.Visa application fees of $50
