Colombia Tourist Visa

You can travel to Colombia or its territory for pleasure on a tourist visa issued by Colombia embassy and consulate offices of Colombia. All foreign nationals from USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the European countries do not need a visa to travel to Colombia. You can stay in the country for up to 90 days without a visa. However, you do need a passport that should be valid for 180 days after you enter the country. Make sure your passport has blank pages. Staying after the allotted time will be considered as illegal. Tourist visa for Colombia comes under temporary visa category TP-11.

REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA (TP-11)

    Residents from most of the foreign countries do not need a tourist visa to visit. If your home country does not fall into the visa exemption category, you indeed need a visa before entering Colombia. To obtain your Colombia tourist visa, you must have a set of required documents along with the application form. You will have to submit the following set of documents to apply for tourist visa:

    • 1.A Copy of the first page of your current passport displaying all your required information.
    • 2.A passport that should be valid for 180 days after you enter the country.
    • 3.Your passport must have blank pages.
    • 4.Photocopy or electronic information of your departure ticket.
    • 5.A Copy of the Colombian visa if issued previously without OCR code.
    • 6.A Copy of the page where entry/exit stamp of Colombia is located, if you have previously visited the country.
    • 7.An official power of attorney must be presented if the third person is completing your visa process.
    • 8.All the above documents along with bank statements displaying the account balance for the past 3 months, with the balance exceeding 5 current minimum legal salaries. If the applicant is economically dependent, then the person responsible for accepting these obligations with the respective bank statements must be submitted
    • 9.All the above documents along with bank statements of the person inviting you for stay and departure in Colombia should display the account balance for the past 3 months with the amount exceeding 5 current minimum legal salaries.
    • 10.Fill out the online application form. You can submit the form by filling them at the issuing office. In any sports or artistic event, the representative must fill the data of each of the members of the group.
    • 11.Visa study fees of $50
    • 12.If you are travelling with prescription medicine, then first check with the Colombian government if it is legal in the country.
    • 13.You can extend the visa duration for up to 90 days by requesting to the Colombian Immigration Authority. Staying in the country after the authorized date to stay makes you eligible for a fine. You cannot leave the country or its territory without paying the fine.

    Apart from the above requirements, the applicant must make sure about all the relevant health documents that might be necessary for the entry into the country.
